Networking Dinner - 23rd July 2008

Conference registration includes a networking dinner with a multicultural concert.

Dance groups include the Gimuy Wallabarra Yidinji, Cairns Chinese Lion Dancers, ISHQ Middle Eastern Dance Group, FNQ Scottish Country Dancers and a Salsa Duo.

The function will be held at Brothers Leagues Club, 95-100 Anderson Street, Manunda. Dinner is 6.30pm for 7.00pm start.

Venue is approximately a 10 minute taxi ride from the city centre.

A Gala Dinner with entertainment will be held to celebrate the closure of the conference. This is at an additional cost which does not include drinks. Friends are welcome to attend.

Conference attendees and their partners - $70 ea. inclusive of GST.

Members of the general public - $99 ea. inclusive of GST.

We are fortunate in having tenor Peter Brocklehurst to sing at the gala dinner.  His story is inspirational – from first hearing Mario Lanza play on a wind-up gramophone in a Darwin caravan park to the stage of the Sydney Opera House.  He has not had an easy journey, and there have been many difficulties on the way. But soaring above all these has been his singing, and his ability to overcome the drawbacks in his life.

His voice is extraordinary and has earned him a place in the lists of top-selling classical record lists, and on many concert stages. Peter has twice been the subject of the ABC’s Australian Story, and his autobiography “Finding my Voice” was published in 2004. He sings both opera and popular songs, and he names his favourite singers as Mario Lanza, Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley, so come to the Gala Dinner and be prepared for a rich feast of song.
